In the first quarter of 2025, the tools apps category in Oceania saw varied performance trends across the top applications according to Sensor Tower data.

NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy by Nord Security showed a fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $101K in late February. Weekly downloads started strong at 14.8K in early January but gradually tapered to 11.2K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 269K to 284K throughout the quarter.

Norton360 Antivirus & Security experienced a steady climb in weekly revenue, reaching $38.9K by the end of March. Downloads peaked at 11.7K in mid-March, while active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at 73.7K.

AVG AntiVirus & Security from AVG Mobile maintained a consistent revenue stream, with a high of $13.3K in late March. Downloads were modest, peaking at 4.5K in early March, and active users showed a slight increase, ending at 89.3K.

ExpressVPN: Fast & Secure VPN saw its revenue fluctuate, peaking at $36.1K at the start of the quarter. Downloads decreased over time, starting at 8.2K and dropping to 5.9K by the end of March. Active users, however, increased significantly, reaching 102K.

Surfshark: Secure VPN service demonstrated a steady revenue pattern, ending the quarter at $15.1K. Downloads remained stable, with a slight peak at 5.3K in early February. Active users showed a minor rise, concluding the period at 54.3K.
